The course will have an academic bias and content will be based around the book “Cambridge Advanced English” which examines many areas of grammar and vocab associated with the academic environment. However, there will be plenty of time dedicated to the discussion of current topics related to academic life (often based on readings taken from the academic press such as the Times Higher Education (THE) and appropriate listenings form the TED website and others. Special attention will be given to correction and feedback while participants discuss the specific areas. Supporting exercises will be provided for those areas that have been detected as troublesome for course attendees.
