Description of the physical activity
During the physical week, students work in international teams on authentic field-based challenges. They experience simulation-based education through activities such as VR and simulation exercises, then use design thinking and prototyping methods to develop innovative learning concepts in a hackathon format. Company and laboratory visits provide direct industry and professional insights, ensuring that the teams’ solutions are grounded in real practice. The on-site programme creates an intensive, interdisciplinary setting for collaboration, experimentation and presentation of emerging ideas.
Description of the virtual activity
The virtual component prepares and consolidates the physical mobility. In the initial online phase, participants receive an introduction, explore the cases and establish international teams before meeting in Belgium. The final online session enables teams to present their developed simulation concepts, reflect on their collaboration and learning, and exchange ideas across participating institutions. Together, these virtual activities support continuity, international teamwork and shared reflection throughout the BIP
